Griffin Electric came to us at Beloved Robot in search of a way to automate their time and expense tracking while out on the job site. By providing them custom software to fit their needs we were able to alleviate their pain points of having to manually enter timesheets for hundreds of employees every week all while saving Griffin Electric time and money.

MY ROLE

Research via direct customer feedback, requests and testing, sitemap creation, wireframing, interface design, asset creation and management, close relation with developers to ensure the highest quality of final design.

SUMMARY

At Beloved Robot, we would start every project with a Discovery Phase. This involved hands on research and a lot of up front communication with our clients seeking valuable input from our technicians in the field. In the case of Griffin Electric, we wanted to make sure we weren’t only solving the problem for the administrators tasked with entering the timesheets but also for the electricians in the field who needed not to be interrupted by yet another tool to use. We quickly saw a need for innovation and focused on 3 key features needed for a successful product:

  1. The need for both an ios native mobile app and complementary web app that allowed for more customization by office administrators 
  2. Ability to quickly scan the electricians work badges for clocking in/out
  3. Not only the ability to track time but to also map that time to a specific job or client
